Yesterday Vice President Joe Biden was mortified by the conduct of 47 Republican senators when they sent a letter to the Islamic Republic of Iran, allegedly undermining the Obama administration’s nuclear talks.
“The letter sent on March 9th by forty-seven Republican Senators to the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressly designed to undercut a sitting President in the midst of sensitive international negotiations, is beneath the dignity of an institution I revere,” Biden said.
I didn’t think the letter was that bright of an idea, either. I thought it evinced that particular kind of stupid our Republican leaders are legendary for.
But undignified? There are a lot of examples of Democrats undermining Republican presidents in just the last century alone, some far more serious than writing a dumb letter that a few psychotic mullahs will use in the lavatory.
And then there is Statesman Joe Biden… which is a whole nother thang.
